How
do I consign items?
Consignment consultations
are always free and we will come to you. Contact us by telephone
(757)739-6864 or (252) 715-0144. Or you can contact us by email at
iegantiques@cox.net. Please include photos when applicable.
What
is your commission scale?
Contrary to many other auction
company’s we have no set commission scales. We realize that
all of our clients needs are different and we tailor our services
to fit each individual situation.
What
items do you accept?
We have all kinds of auctions
from general merchandise to high quality antiques. We also sell automobiles
boats and even the earth. However we do specialize in quality antiques
and period items.
What
kind of items sell best?
This is a frequent question
and a hard one to answer. The best answer is to come out to the auctions
and see for yourself. The truth is the items that do best at auction
are the ones that stand out from the other more common items. Condition
and rarity are also strong factors. Items with strong provenance
also do better then those with out. We like for our clients to focus
on the auction as a whole and not the price of each individual item.
It's amazing how grandmother's mink stole may sell for $10.00 while
the desk from the basement may bring $300.00. This is why we like
to focus on the overall potential of estates and consignments as
a whole rather than individually.
Is
there a minimum number or limit on the items I can consign?
No, never. We will take on
an entire estate, a collection or a single piece. No matter the size
of the consignment you will always receive the same courteous service
and attention to detail.
Where
do you hold your auctions?
We are available to conduct
an onsite auction at your location or we can move your items to one
of our Galleries in VA or NC.
How
long do I have to wait to get paid after an auction?
After the close
of the auction we will provide you with an inventory settlement and
guaranteed check within 30 days following auction. (In most cases
it usually takes less than 2 weeks and in some cases as little as
5 days!)
